For 25 years, Sheri Powers dedicated her life to teaching in Visalia and Hanford, helping students prepare for careers in healthcare and public service. She never imagined that one of her former students would later play a life-saving role in her own healthcare journey.
In 2024, after experiencing heart palpitations and discomfort in her chest, Sheri visited her primary doctor and was referred to Dr. Hanumandla Raj Reddy, a respected Hanford cardiologist with more than 34 years of experience.
On a follow-up visit, Sheri was surprised to recognize Dr. H. Kiran Reddy, her former student, now a skilled cardiologist. “It was a heartwarming experience,” Sheri recalls.
Dr. Reddy diagnosed a serious blockage and performed a successful life-saving heart procedure at Kaweah Health Medical Center, where over 1,000 stents are placed annually.
Sheri’s recovery was smooth thanks to the expertise and care of the cardiac team. “The cardiac care team at Kaweah Health Medical Center is outstanding. From prep to procedure to recovery, the staff provides exceptional care at every step,” Dr. Reddy shares.
Now, Sheri is back to feeling like herself again, with a clean bill of health. This story highlights not only the advances in cardiac care but also the power of meaningful connections.
