Every second counts during a stroke. Early recognition and rapid response are critical to reducing long-term damage and even saving a life. During Stroke Awareness Month, Dr. Kiran Reddy is committed to educating the community about the signs of a stroke—and what to do if one occurs.

FAST: The Warning Signs of Stroke

The acronym F.A.S.T. can help you spot stroke symptoms quickly:

Face drooping

Arm weakness

Speech difficulty

Time to call 911

Other symptoms may include:

• Sudden confusion or trouble understanding

• Blurred or loss of vision in one or both eyes

• Difficulty walking or loss of coordination

• Sudden severe headache with no known cause

Why Immediate Medical Care Matters

When it comes to stroke, time is brain. The faster you get treatment, the better your chances of recovery. Clot-busting medications and other treatments are time-sensitive and can significantly reduce long-term effects.

If you or someone you love shows any signs of a stroke, don’t wait—call 911 immediately. At Dr. Reddy’s cardiology clinic in Hanford and Visalia, we work closely with patients who have experienced stroke or are at risk to create tailored treatment and prevention plans.
